International Day- A truly International Experience
In March 2011 the Students’ Union hosted ‘International Day’ - one of the most eagerly anticipated events on the Loughborough campus, where students get to showcase their own vibrant and interesting culture.
The day was a huge success with over 40 countries represented, and thousands of Loughborough students attended the celebration. Apart from national stands which the International Day has had in previous years, the Students' Union developed the programme to include multiple stage performances ranging from Indian art dances, a musical enactment of a traditional Bruneian wedding ceremony, Chinese singers and the international fashion show.
All students were immersed into the cultures of over 40 countries and could explore food, history and quizzes. The students were also joined by many of the University staff and the Mayor of Charnwood to open the unique event.
