Sports Technology
Loughborough University has a long established tradition of excellence in sport, sports science and engineering. In the UK it uniquely combines these academic disciplines from positions of strength both individually and as a whole.
Based within the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, the Sports Technology Research area at Loughborough has established relationships with sports scientists, psychologists, bio-mechanists and human biologists within the university. We have experience in testing with elite sports athletes and our research knowledge spans many other sports.
Loughborough's continuing sports engineering research activity is supported by major international equipment companies, UK sports goods SME's, individual sports governing bodies and leading science and engineering technology suppliers.
