School alumni
Your Alumni Network
Welcome to the School of Business and Economics’ Alumni web pages.
With hundreds of undergraduates and postgraduates successfully graduating from the School of Business and Economics each year, when you leave Loughborough University, you automatically become part of a global network of alumni, which is open to you for the rest of your life.
The Alumni Association is your main point of contact with the University and runs many events which you can get involved in. Membership of the Alumni Association is free - all you have to do is keep them informed of your current address.
School of Business and Economics Graduates
The School of Business and Economics officially opened in 2010 and graduated its first set of students in 2011. Thus, all of you – our graduates – are new to the School in a sense. Please know however that the two areas of Business and Economics will remain distinct under the umbrella of the School of Business and Economics, headed by the Dean, Professor Angus Laing.
Alumni Activities
These pages are a great way to keep in touch with the School of Business and Economics and find out about the various alumni activities that we organise for our graduates. In addition to the magazine that the Alumni Association produces, we at the School of Business and Economics will be producing our own magazine featuring news and achievements from students, staff and graduates, as well as highlighting some of the very latest research emerging from the School and University.
In addition, we would like to meet you in person whenever we can and so we are planning on organising alumni events every year or two so you can meet up with old friends and network with other Business and Economics graduates. 2011 marked 40 years of management education and 20 years of retail education here at Loughborough, with some special events held to celebrate those anniversaries. We are also planning to host a first-ever SBE alumni reunion event soon, so do check back for further details in the coming months.
How to get involved
There are lots of ways you can get involved with our alumni activities. You may simply wish to inform us of how you are getting on in your career or would like to give a testimonial of your time here which could encourage future students to choose Loughborough and current students to make the most of the opportunities in front of them.
Many of you will also be aware of the priceless experience that the Placement Year (now compulsory) offers to our Business and Management undergraduate students, so you may wish to consider whether you could offer undergraduate business students placement opportunities in your organisation.
Alternatively, your business may have R&D or consultancy requirements that our specialist research groups could offer expertise in. Please do get in touch if you would like to be involved.
