Students’ Union

Loughborough’s Students' Union is situated at the entrance to the campus and is an integral part of the University. In terms of the number of events provided, and the wide range of tastes that these events cater for, the Union is now the largest music and dance venue in Leicestershire and is, by far, the biggest provider of professional entertainment in Loughborough. Each week there are regular screen films, hugely popular discos, smaller alternative discos, free bands, mind-boggling quizzes and live comedy direct from the London circuit. Big name bands complement this, as do end of term parties and the Graduation Ball. Loughborough Rag is the biggest and most successful in the UK, and allegedly the world. It regularly raises over £400,000 in a year. Whatever your interest there is likely to be a club or society to take it that one step further. There are more than 100 clubs and societies that offer you a chance to have a go at activities you always wanted to try, and are also a great way to make new friends.

“ It’s practically impossible not to get involved with the Union activities – they’re so sociable.”
Jane Fordham, graduate 1998
